Alex Baker’s practice spans the making of sound installation, sculpture, performance, video and drawing. Moving freely between these media he makes work that is both responsive and transformative, making the invisible palpable. He is fascinated by patterns and rhythms of behaviour. The artwork begins as a way of filtering and transforming objects, spaces and events by modulating, re-directing or multi-layering them with new patterns, connections or interruptions.
