Kate Beaugié’s artwork is an investigation of a primal connection between man and nature. She focuses the viewer in the seemingly ‘magic’ or unaccountable moments in the natural world, for example when water reflects or absorbs light or smoke responds to invisible currents in apparently still air. The work negotiates a relationship with the environment where it is installed. This relationship is mirrored by her intention to involve the viewer as a participant of the phenomena presented and therefore experience her work physically, rather than cerebrally.
