St George’s is a magnificent church located at the heart of Romney marsh. There are many links to its history and its use still evident today. For example that the north aisle was once used to stable Cromwell’ s horses and that there are secret tunnels linked to the village pub. The church has some incredible wallpaintings which give an insight into how highly decorated the interior might have been.
